3SS created an exercise display today. Can you guess our exercises just from looking at our pictures?
Third grade students singing a song to learn the name of some Orff Instruments: glockenspiel, xylophone and metallophone.  They chant and improvise to play short rhythmic pieces on these instruments with their music teacher, Mrs. Penick.

During our unit of inquiry on Healthy Choices, the grade 3 students are going to focus on exercise this week. Each morning we are going to start our day with a 5 min. run. This is not a race and our goal is to improve and actually run the full five minutes by Friday.
Click on the image above and think about how different activities make our heart work in different ways.
We made a healthy snack this past week in class. We used bagels, cream cheese, and vegetables to create faces or unique designs. We had a lot of fun, especially when we got to eat our creations!
Remember to practice our song on nutrition. Sing the words to the tune of 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star'.
Congratulations to Chile, My, and Min Jung this week for being awarded the PYP Award for Caring. Thank you for modeling caring attitudes girls. Well Done!
Each Grade 3 class created a Food Pyramid as a classroom display during our Unit of Inquiry on Healthy Choices. Students brought in items from home or made their own examples to add to the class project. Have you added something to your class wall? What else can you add?
Free Dress Day tomorrow, Friday, August 26th.
